When playing CD, the screen turns off after a few minutes automatically (to save energy). I've been using it almost everyday. I purchased this DVD player in April. The price is reasonable. It's working great. It can play CD, DVD, VCD. It looks nice. Although Sony is more delicate, with the price of one Sony, I can buy almost two Coby DVD player ^.^
The price is the cheapes on the market. Eventhough, 3 days after my son received the player, the screen turned to colors and no further response from the equipment (had to request a replacement, and up to the moment, very good player). I'm not sure if I'd buy it again (honestly, because of the first experience, but you never know with children). The sure thing is that its controls are easier than other similar players, specially for a small kid; and the display and operation do what they're meant to do.
I've contacted the manufacturer though, and they seem helpful. Then it just went black and all you could do was listen to the sound.
It's sleek and different than the standard silver. The outside looks nice.
She watched 3 or so movies on it, then one day, the screen went dark and it was hard to see the picture. I bought this for my daughter for a long airplane trip.
Turned out, she slept the whole time and never used it until we got back home a few months later. Of course the warranty is 90 days, and since it took so long for it to be used, I couldn't take it back.
I wouldn't buy it again.
It took about 10 days to receive with free shipping. We chose this Coby player based on web search & reviews. It was actually white & black and not black as indicated, but it looks sharp, works well, clear picture, excellent volume (great when two or more people want to watch something together). We have six kids & wanted something affordably priced that would work well & survive a lot of handling. I ordered from the supplier with the lowest price (about $69) & free shipping - which made me nervous, but it worked out fine. The remote control (really critical - in case your player isn't sitting on your lap, I guess), charger, car charger, and ear buds were all included & work great. We like it better than one we purchased for a Christmas gift at a much higher price.
Charged the battery and tried my new purchase. Totally unusable. Book is not user friendly. Bought this DVD as a spare. This is the first thing I have bought through Amazon that was bad. What good is it if you can't see the picture.
Sound is fine.
The picture came on for about 5 seconds then is gone.
Very bad experience.
Read the book.
Will be sending this back as soon as posssible.
Tried several times.
What remains is so light you can't tell what you are watching.
Very upset.
Would advise anyone to be careful of a this particular brand of product.
